Some men might be reenacting unresolved emotional wounds from childhood, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, or the like. Some men cheat because they know there is a dividing line between singleness and marriage. Some men cheat because of their selfish interests. They can tell lies and do all sorts of things to get what they want. Sometimes, people like this have different views on marriage and are not likely to be monogamous.

Some men don’t have it in mind to cheat until the opportunity shows up. Without thinking twice, they go for the opportunity without minding what would happen afterward.

Some men cheat because they feel they are not rich enough, too old, too young, or not handsome. In order to boost their ego, they go after women outside their marriage—using extracurricular activities to feel worthy and wanted.
