How To Register For Your PVC Online

Are you finding it difficult to register for your Permanent Voters Card ( PVC ) offline, here is the good news, you can register for your PVC online.

Permanent Voters Card popularly known as PVC is a card that empowers Nigerians to vote during election.

The card is issued by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the body charged with the responsibility of organizing election.

The card can be gotten from INEC offices across the 36 states in Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Gone are those days you line up on a que for a long period of time to register for voters card. INEC has make things easy now, you can now register for your PVC online.

To ensure a validated online registration, follow the procedures below;

Step 1: Visit INEC Portal To Create An Account

To register your PVC online, you need to visit INEC website here and click on “Get Started” you will taken to a page where you can log in or sign up.

As a new user, create a new account under “New Portal User”, enter all the necessary information such as first name, surname, email, password and confirm you are not a robot.

Click on continue and it will show account created successfully as shown below.

Pls note, do not try to register twice so that your registration won’t be invalidated. It will be considered a criminal offence if you try to register more than once.

After creating an account, you will be directed to verify your email to show that you are the real owner of the email. Check the inbox of the email you used to create account to verify and continue. If you can’t find the mail in your inbox, check your spam folder.

Step 2: Log In To User Portal

After verifying email ownership, you can now login. Go back to INEC portal and log in with the email and password you just created. You will be directed to a page where you are to declare that all information provided by you are true and accurate. After that, you can click on “Yes” to proceed.

Step 3: PVC Registration

After declaration that all information provided are true, you will be taken to a page to register for your PVC.

You will be required to enter the following information;

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Occupation
  • Address
  • NIN (Click here to link your NIN to your phone numbers)
  • Nationality
  • Maiden Name
  • Level of education
  • Disability
  • Country, state and LGA of birth
  • Country of origin, State of origin and Local Government Area of origin Government Area of origin
  • Country, State & Local Government Area of where you want to vote in.

After providing the data above, you will find a space to upload your national ID card or passport to make it easy to confirm your identity. After this, you will be directed to a page that shows your application has been updated.
Please note, if you do not get a message that your application is successful, click on the 3 buttons at the top right corner to check the status of your application.

Step 4: Photo Upload

After filling and submitting your info for your PVC registration, then, you will be required to upload a photo two photos. One photo will be neutral while the second photo will be one with you smiling.

To upload your photo click on “Choose File” and you will be directed to your camera. Take selfie and click on Use Photo and upload.

You can also resize the photo before you upload. At this state, you are almost done, then go to the next step.

Step 5: Biometrics

Your registration is incomplete without getting your biometrics done. Biometrics is the registration of your biological data such as fingerprint, heights, etc.

To get your Biometrics done, you have to schedule an appointment on this page. You will get a list of closest places to you based on the address you registered in your BioData. They are over 800 centres dedicated nationwide.

Also, you have the option to chose available time for the biometrics to be done. Once you have selected a date and time, you are free to submit your application.

You are almost on the way to getting your voters card. After getting your biometrics done, you be issued a Temporary Voters Card as an evidence that you are done with the registration process. Ensure you keep it safe. When your Permanent Voters Card is ready, you will be contacted to pickup at the centre you had your biometrics. The PVC is likely to be ready within 3months or otherwise stated by INEC.

Pls note, ensure you are punctual at the centre selected for biometrics and ensure you keep your Temporary Voters Card very well so as to use it to receive your PVC.
